Another very hardy but delicate looking Fargesia from mountainous China, this rare cultivar ‘Jiuzhaigou’ is selected for its dramatic red culms (canes). Red culm colour is best in good light conditions but not full sun. Most Fargesias will curl their leaves if overexposed to sunlight, however good morning or filtered afternoon sunlight is best to develop optimum culm colour. This bamboo establishes quickly and requires very little care other than watering during dry periods.
